Enrollment Procedures

Parents of prospective students are encouraged to experience a working Montessori classroom for themselves by planning a visit during the school year. Visiting parents receive a tour of the school and observe the classroom during the morning work cycle while the children are immersed in learning activities. This visit is required of all families seeking admission for their child. Your appointment will include 15 minute classroom observation as well as time to meet one of our administrators. We regret we cannot accommodate children on this first visit.

The following provides a step-by-step procedure for enrollment into South Florida Montessori Academy:

  • Schedule a tour of our Academy to receive information from our office and arrange an observation in one of our classrooms (please call ahead to make an appointment).
  • Familiarize yourself with basic Montessori philosophy.
  • Complete and submit the application form along with $100 application fee.
  • Receive a letter of acceptance from South Florida Montessori Academy.
  • Complete and return enrollment contract, health forms, and all necessary fees.
  • Familiarize yourself with the parent handbook.
  • Attend mandatory parent orientation meeting.

The following priorities are used in determining admissions:

  • Students currently enrolled
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students
  • Transfers from other AMI-recognized Montessori schools
  • Date of application submitted
